An Introduction:

Dr. Patrick Toppin is an internationally trained anaesthetist and critical care physician. He originally hails from Barbados but has made Jamaica his home, bringing the skills and knowledge he has acquired over the years to the development of medicine in Jamaica. His contributions continue to elevate the standard of care in anaesthesia across the region. Dr. Toppin started his medical journey in the United States, completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Harvard University in 1995. He obtained his undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree at the University of the West Indies (Jamaica) in 2001. His postgraduate training in anaesthesia resulted in his Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesia and Critical Care) degree in 2008. Dr. Toppin subsequently travelled to Canada and pursued clinical fellowships at the University of Toronto in Cardiovascular Anaesthesia and critical Care (2010), Abdominal Transplantation Anaesthesia (2010) and Critical Care (2011).
